Trey Lorenz, known as BIG NASTY and for his amazing voice has been Mariah's best friend and backup singer for a very long time.... Trey Lorenz was born on January 19th,1969 in Florence, South Carolina, home of the FISH SANDWICHES! When Trey was in high school, he shared his vocals and keyboard talents to a band called "The Players" which had a few TOP 40 hits. When he was in his junior year at Farleigh Dickinson University, he was a member of a band called "Squeak & The Deep" but Trey says "we were only together for a minute!". Trey and Mariah met in February 1990 when Mariah was working on her first album. Mariah was recording "There's Got To Be A Way" and Trey just happened to be in the studio because his friend who was singing backup brought him down to the studio. Trey was singing along, hitting those high notes and Mariah heard him and was like "who is that?". Since then, Trey has been Mariah's backup singer and even did a duet with Mariah on a song called "I'll Be There" which was a #1 hit. In 1992, Trey released his debut album "Trey Lorenz" which has many nice songs like "Photograph Of Mary", "Someone To Hold", and "Just To Be Close To You". Trey worked together with Mariah on some songs too. A few years later, Trey's new song "Make You Happy" was featured on the soundtrack of "Men In Black". Mariah sang backup on this song but used "HoneyBFly" as her name. During Mariah's Charmbracelet Tour, Trey performed a new song called "Friend of Mine". Trey also performed this song at the MonarC showcase live which was held in Tokyo, Japan. It is said that Trey's new album is planned to be released from Mariah's record label,MonarC. |
